Farm to ECE

Colorful logo for New Orleans Farm for ECE, featuring playful text and three alphabet blocks spelling 'e c e'.

The Farm to Early Care and Education (ECE) program is a national movement to increase healthy dietary practices and access to fresh, local foods during early childcare years (0-5 yrs).

We work with early childcare centers and pre-K classrooms across New Orleans to:

  • Source fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables from local farmers to supply to centers for snacks, cafeteria recipes, and taste-tests.

  • Start, maintain, and provide technical assistance for school gardens

  • Provide engaging, hands-on food and nutrition education

Our FREE Activity Guide is designed for educators and parents and contains taste-tests, recipes, seasonal growing info, and more.

Farm to ECE would not be possible without the generous support of the W. K. Kellogg Foundation.

Thank you to our partners JV Foods and Sprout for helping to get fresh, local food to our early care kids!
