NOLA Tree Project has launched a feeding program with 500 meals delivered to Senior Centers and home-bound residents, plus a drive up hot meal pick up at the center MON-FRI 3-5pm 1509 Filmore Ave Gentilly. All in need are welcome - all ages, families, pickups for home-bound neighbors etc.
Food Distribution at Sankofa Community Center, 5200 Dauphine St,
1) Food pantry at Sankofa CDC, in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank. Food distributes heart healthy staple items (produce, dairy, protein, whole grains). Clients must be a resident of Orleans Parish and meet household income guidelines. Apply in person or over the phone at 504-872-9214. Pantry is open Mon-Wed from 10am to 2pm (walk-up, not a drive thru).
2) Commodity food boxes for seniors aged 60 and older, provided by Catholic Charities. Seniors must meet income guidelines.
Toups Meatery is offering family meals for any in need but specifically for service industry workers. Daily at 3PM, view Instagram for daily updates.
New Orleans Community Fridges is a project bringing fresh food to the neighborhoods of New Orleans through installing public fridges. Get up to date info and fridge locations by following NOCF on Facebook or Instagram.
