In New Orleans, we are known world-wide for our food culture. Unfortunately, for small home-grown food businesses, permitting and licensing in New Orleans is cumbersome, expensive, and inequitable. FPAC, led by the Business Development Working Group, has been working with city leaders to streamline the process and make it more transparent and equitable. In order to encourage small businesses, we must make starting and growing one easy to navigate. 

In 2019 we released a set of recommendations. Since then we have continued to advocate for a better process, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and it's effect on small businesses. If you would like to get involved or learn more, please reach out!
