FPAC is involved in work to ensure that the CZO provides a reasonable and fair set of laws that allow food businesses, food production, and food access to flourish in the city.
2019 Pop-Up Permitting recommendations
Zoning: These are the laws that govern what can be done on any particular property in New Orleans. Every property fits within a zoning district and may have additional zoning overlays that restrict or exempt specific activities. These rules include building and design standards as well as activities and use.
New Orleans Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance (CZO). A codification of zoning ordinances in New Orleans.
CZO Article 20 Use Standards. Requirements for certain uses of land including food preparation, processing, and packaging, operational standards, and retail sales.

Food Truck Permit Application
Occupational/General Business License Application. Required if you will be conducting any type of business in Orleans Parish. Examples include catering, food trucks, restaurants, and cafeterias. Occupational License applications must be submitted with required permit applications.
Mobile/Temporary Vendor Permit Application. Required for every person who wants to use the public streets, sidewalks, or public or private places of business establishments to conduct any type of business.
Special Event Permit Application. If you are selling food as a part of a fair, festival, or other special event, complete this master application in addition to the Supplement A-Special Event Promoter/Vendor.
Grease Trap/Interceptor Discharge Permit Application. Food service establishments and food processing establishments must obtain this permit.
