FOOD BANKS

View the Feeding Louisiana website here to find a food bank, including Second Harvest Food Bank closest to you.

NOLA Tree Project has launched a feeding program with 500 meals delivered to Senior Centers and home-bound residents, plus a drive up hot meal pick up at the center MON-FRI 3-5pm 1509 Filmore Ave Gentilly. All in need are welcome - all ages, families, pickups for home-bound neighbors etc.

Sankofa Community Development Corporation is coordinating with multiple local organizations to offer food to the elderly and families in need of fresh resources. 

SERVICE INDUSTRY RELIEF MEALS

Culture Aid NOLA has collaborated for a dual effort to recover food waste from restaurants affected by closures and creating meals for service industry folks also affected by closures. Distributions held on Mondays and Fridays and no paperwork or verification of income is needed. Fill out this form for meal relief. If you are a restaurant affected by closures with excess food willing to donate please fill out this form.

Toups Meatery is offering family meals for any in need but specifically for service industry workers. Daily at 3PM, view Instagram for daily updates.

SNAP/TEFAP

SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (SNAP)

SNAP provides nutrition benefits to supplement the food budget of needy families so they can purchase healthy food and move towards self-sufficiency.

THE EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (TEFAP)

TEFAP is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans by providing them with emergency food assistance at no cost. USDA provides 100% American-grown USDA Foods and administrative funds to states to operate TEFAP.

SNAP ACCEPTANCE

Crescent City Farmers Market produce box is doubling SNAP dollars for this $40 box, costing only $20 with your SNAP card. This box will be delivered to your home.
